Ontulili Forest org is a youth lead org which exists to ensure a sustained conservation of Ontulili Forest and development of the surrounding communities. In maintaining the forest as a key water tower in eastern Kenya, communities are involved in decision making to conserve wildlife and natural resources while improving their livelihoods.

To safeguard Ontulili’s ecological treasures and cultural heritage through sustainable tourism, education, and community-led conservation. Every visitor, tree planted, and story shared fuels our fight against deforestation, poaching, and climate change.
Our Story
For generations, ontulili community people have revered Ontulili as a sacred lifeline—a source of clean water, medicinal plants, and spiritual solace. But by the early 2000s, illegal logging and land encroachment threatened this fragile paradise. In response, young people, farmers, and conservationists united to create a new model: eco-tourism as a tool for preservation.
